I do not think that the concept of a single priestly messiah can be inferred from the phrase משׁיח אהרון וישׂראל in CD.37 There are some hints, however, of a combination of kingship and priesthood in a single office in the Levi tradition.38 In the Aramaic Levi apocryphon, Levi is consecrated priest of El Elyon, as Melchizedek, priest-king of Salem was (Gen 14:18; cf. Ps 110:4).
